Verse for the Day:
Let the bountiful table set before them become a snare and let their security become a trap. (Psalm 69:22)

I know a woman whose need for security blinds her to the possibilities in her life. She is very talented and with some education could have obtained an excellent position that would have provided a secure future for herself and her family. She didn’t feel she could take a portion of her present income to invest in a better future for her family. With out a vision of the possibilities, the “bountiful table” at present becomes a trap that is inescapable.

The quest for security in this world can and does become a prison with high walls that are not scalable without help. And there are few of us who will ask for that help because we don’t realize the prison we have created for ourselves when we place worldly security above all else. God has so much more in mind for us than we have in mind for ourselves. Don’t limit your possibilities. Don’t keep your focus on the narrow prison you have created. Look beyond the walls to the plan that God has laid out for you, for the truly bountiful future that he has designed. And then ask for his help to make his plans and his dreams your own.

Heavenly Father, take my hand and lift me out of the rut I have dug for myself in my life. Grant me your vision of the possibilities you have for me and then give me the burning desire to make them my own, in Jesus name, amen.
