Reading – Leviticus 5 – 7

Verse for the Day:
“If a person .. does not speak up when he hears a public charge to testify regarding something he has seen or learned about, he will be held responsible. (Leviticus 5:1)

When good, honest, upstanding men and women remain silent about the evil they see around them each day, they become enablers to that evil. They are, in God’s words, responsible also for the effects of that evil in our world. Proverbs 29:34 states that he is an accomplice of the thief when he does not testify.

Consider:

According to God’s word, these good citizens are all guilty of the effects of their failure to act. They are accomplices in the criminal’s actions.

Evil is among us, in our country, our schools, our neighborhoods, our homes. When we turn a blind eye on it, we are giving it permission to continue. We are enabling it to get worse.

Sometimes the hardest and loneliest position in the world is the position of right, taken in love.

Dear Heavenly Father show me the right course of action to take in each and every situation I find myself in. Teach me how to act and when to act and when to turn a blind eye to the activity that is going on. In Jesus Name, Amen.
